Ahmad Nasir is a Green Beret in 5th Special Forces Group and recently relinquished command of a Special Forces A-Team. During a recent combat deployment to Syria Ahmad and his team conducted special operations to defeat ISIS, build partner capacity, and leverage cohesive coalition effects.
Prior to joining the Special Operations community, Ahmad underwent rigorous military training across the United States and also served as an Air and Missile Defense Officer. Ahmad’s first assignment after commissioning into the Army was as a political-military desk officer at the U.S. Department of State where he addressed security assistance and cross-border issues for Pakistan and Afghanistan.
Ahmad earned a B.S. from the United States Military Academy at West Point where he won a Truman Scholarship, and an M.Phil from the University of Oxford where he studied as a Marshall Scholar.
